WCP Solutions values each and every one of our employees across the different divisions. To get to know our fellow coworkers, we showcase different employees in our Employee Spotlights. We also hope you get to know them a little more too. So for this Employee Spotlight we have chosen Mike Lamprecht, Division Manager at our Idaho Falls location.

Mike’s WCP Story

Mike is no stranger when it comes to the paper business. He has been a part of the industry for 41 years and for the past 17 years Mike has been a part of the WCP family. When he first started at WCP he was in Sales. However, as the division started to grow, the need for a leader became apparent. Due to his hard work and great work ethic, Mike became the obvious choice to help guide the company towards success- becoming the Idaho Falls Division Manager.

A Little Bit About Mike

Mike grew up on a farm in Blackfoot, Idaho. He and his wife, Julie, have been married for 46 years. They have four children which have blessed them with 11 grandchildren. Though he has a passion for golf, he is always willing to answer a work call or email. He also enjoys traveling with his wife and watching his grandchildren at their sports games and other activities.

Q+A with Mike

What does your typical day at WCP look like?
Lately, my day consists of calling on customers, lots of emails, phone calls, and text messages to help them succeed. In our current situation of supply chain issues, I am working to find products to sell, get the availability, negotiating prices, and finding trucks to haul it. I also start my day by walking into the warehouse and talking to drivers and warehouse people to see how they are doing. We have such a good staff here and it is like we are one big family. So I want to make sure everyone is doing okay.

What’s your favorite part of working at WCP?
The people by far. We have great people in our company. Everyone is always willing to help each other and find ways to make things happen.

What’s one lesson that your current position has taught you?
A couple of lessons I have learned are to be honest with customers and employees and always respond to customers and employees in a timely manner, whether it is the answer they want or the truth about the situation.

Do you have any tips for new employees just starting their career?
Ask lots of questions. Anyone and everyone in the company is willing to help. In addition, plan your day and work your plan. Take the time to listen to your peers and be attentive to the company and yourself. If you do, you can have a great career with WCP Solutions.

What’s your favorite product available from WCP?
I have always liked the packaging side of the business. I like finding solutions to help customers succeed, and become more efficient. I also like the converting side of our business.
