Employee Spotlight - Debbie StupurTwenty-Nine Years in Distribution

This month we’re shining a spotlight on WCP Solutions’ Debbie Stupur, Portland’s Industrial Purchasing and Merchandising Manager. Debbie has been in wholesale distribution for twenty-nine years, including fifteen of those with WCP. As a part of the Portland division, Debbie loves working with her local team in the Rose City as well as collaborating with all the other WCP divisions and feels proud to be a part of it all.

Debbie’s WCP Story

Born in Seattle, Debbie has lived up and down the West Coast. She lived in San Jose, California before spending most of her life in Oregon City after graduating as an OC Pioneer.  She met her husband Dan at George Fox University a month before graduating and they recently celebrated 28 years of marriage. Now she calls Camas, Washington home, where she’s been for twenty-two years with her husband and Siberian Huskies. As a hobby, Debbie and her husband Dan like to travel; Nevis in the West Indies is one of their favorite destinations.

Debbie’s background is in foodservice disposables, both purchasing and inside sales. After starting WCP in January of 2004 as a buyer/merchandiser for foodservice disposables and custom poly, she’s now the merchandising manager for the Portland division and continues to be the foodservice buyer as well. She loves analyzing, determining what the problem might be in any given situation, and then finding solutions to become better the next time around.

Debbie’s Favorite WCP Memories

With 15 years at WCP, Debbie shares her favorite memories:

“Some of my favorite memories include Casandra hiding under my desk to grab my leg as well as in the recycle bin for Debbie Russell to open. Both times Casandra was rewarded with screams then laughter.”

“In the early years, I loved decorating our department Christmas tree with the ornaments Teresa and Dick personally handed out each holiday season.”

“Recently I had an opportunity to spend a few days in our Sacramento division.  It was fun to work side by side with Teresa Russell, Jay Ross, Marilou Hallquist, Marc Stansfield, Justin Overton & Tina Meaney. WCP has an amazing group of people across all segments of our company.  I feel honored to work with and learn from all within our company.”
