WCP Employee Spotlight: Thảo Nguyễn

When it comes to envelope production, it takes a craftsman (or in this case a craftswoman) to get the job done right. With over 20 years of experience in the envelope manufacturing industry, Thảo Nguyen, from our WCP Envelope team, embodies the spirit of a true artisan. Her sharp attention to detail and strong commitment to quality set her apart. Whether she is fine-tuning specs, packing finished product, or stepping in to help a coworker, Thảo approaches every task with pride, positivity, and a smile. “She is a good and hard worker, very attentive to what she does, and she makes sure that the envelopes are on spec and top quality.” We are proud to feature her in this Employee Spotlight.

Thảo’s WCP Story

With over 20 years in envelope manufacturing, Thảo joined the WCP Kent Envelope Team in 2022 and works on our production floor. She operates multiple machines that range from envelope window die-cutting to a high-speed operator.

Thảo’s hardworking, kind, and positive attitude has left a lasting impression on the Kent Envelope Team and they on her. During her spotlight interview, she shared how much she enjoys her role and the people she works with. “I have a great working and relaxing environment, and my manager is really easy to get along with. I like working with him.”

More About Thảo

Thảo moved to the United States from Vietnam in 1990 and has called the Seattle area home ever since. She welcomed her son in 1994, and since then he and Thảo’s mother have been her main focus. When Thảo is not hard at work, you will often find her in the kitchen cooking for her family. She loves cooking. Some of her favorite Vietnamese dishes to cook are mì xào giòn (crispy fried noodle stir-fry) and bánh xèo (crispy crepes stuffed with pork, shrimp, onions, and bean sprouts).

What is your favorite part of working at WCP?
I have little stress while working.

What is one lesson that your current position has taught you?
Inspect all the envelopes before packing to ensure customer satisfaction upon receipt.

Do you have any advice for new people in the industry who are just starting their careers?
Work with your passion. Be curious. If there is something wrong, don’t be afraid to find someone who can help fix it.

How do you stay organized while operating the machinery?
Time management.
