WCP Employee Spotlight: Brian Lee
Behind every delivery made by one of our Yellow Trucks is a dedicated team making it happen, from receiving inventory and sorting products to picking from racks and palletizing for shipment. Once the order is complete, our drivers hand-deliver it to our customers. As the Operations Manager for WCP Sacramento, Brian Lee helps orchestrate the entire process for his division. Even as the Operations Manager, Brian isn’t afraid to get his hands dirty. He fills in for his team wherever needed, regardless of the role. Brian’s strong work ethic, contagious energy, and strong leadership presence are just some of the reasons we are honored to feature him in the latest Employee Spotlight.
Brian’s WCP Story
Brian joined the WCP family in October 2019, bringing a can-do attitude and a willingness to jump in wherever needed. Initially hired as a second-shift supervisor, he quickly proved himself to be a valuable asset to the team. After serving two years as a second-shift supervisor, he assumed his current role as Operations Manager, where he continues to lead by example for his team.
If you were to ask Brian what a typical day looks like, he would tell you there is no such thing. “Every day is different,” he says. He spends over 90% of his day in the warehouse, making sure everything runs smoothly and efficiently. Whether it is unloading, loading, making deliveries, managing transfers, or handling receiving, Brian is always on the move. As he puts it, “Every day is like a box of chocolates.”
Most recently, Brian has been part of WCP’s initiative to add warehouse storage space in Reno, Nevada. Through his involvement in coordinating logistics and setting up operations, he is helping ensure we can better support our Northern Nevada customers now and into the future
More About Brian
Born and raised in South Sacramento, California, Brian is a proud family man with a big heart and an even bigger love for his two young daughters. While he used to spend his free time on the soccer field, these days, you are more likely to find him hiking, swimming, or planning a future fishing trip with his oldest daughter. “The list can go on forever,” Brian says, “but they are my world.”

His creativity and focus to get the job done no matter what obstacle he faces is a direct correlation to our continued growth and success in Northern California and Northern Nevada.” – Mike Groves, WCP Sacramento Division Manager
“He is a great guy. Always helpful, always has a smile, always goes the extra mile. He works as hard as he can to help get the customer taken care of.” – Kevin Reilly, WCP Sacramento Account Manager
“Brian is an amazing leader for the team and the company. The way he is able to help anyone with a challenge they may have, the way that he is able to connect with multiple people genuinely, and the way he isn’t afraid to get in there with the team and do the work alongside them really shows on a day-in and day-out basis. He shows us the right way to do things by doing them with us and doesn’t expect more out of us than he expects out of himself. I’m glad he’s on our team.” – LT Thomas Jr., WCP Sacramento Warehouse Lead
“Brian runs one of the fastest-growing divisions, and that brings some challenges. He has fostered a culture of continuous improvement and flexibility, which is crucial since roles are constantly evolving. As a newer Ops Manager, he is also still learning himself, and I appreciate the fact that he is willing to ask for guidance when something is new to him. He has embraced the servant leadership concept and is always willing to jump into tasks to help his team. Brian has a very bright future, and I look forward to seeing him continue to develop as a leader for his division and the company.” – Justin Overton, Director of Operations
